Clients and Planners have a growing requirement for buildings with low carbon footprints achieved through on-site renewable energy generation.

Solar Photovoltaic (PV) systems can help you meet this requirement by providing meaningful carbon reductions utilising robust and reliable 21st century technology with no noise, no fuss and low maintenance. This technology generates emission free electricity and is ideal for urban deployment where it can integrate with the design of the building at the construction stage or as a retrofit option. If you are considering integrating renewable energy in the fabric of your building then the earlier you can discuss your requirements with us the easier it is to incorporate with the build programme thus avoiding additional build costs.

Chelsfield Solar Ltd has one of the most well established and experienced teams of designers and installers in the UK. We operate throughout the south east of England and our portfolio includes a range of new-build and refurbishment projects. We understand not only the importance of renewable energy generation in the built environment, but also the commercial necessity to integrate within the design and construction program.

We are a NIC/EIC approved electrical contractor and an Approved Installer under the rules of the Energy Saving Trust's Solar Photovoltaic Accreditation Scheme. This will give you peace of mind that you are dealing with professionals.

Solar for your Offices or Warehouse

Installing a solar PV system is a great way of making a visible statement about your company’s environmental policy. We can install a display unit in a prominent place in the building to show your employees and visitors how much electricity the system is generating. This often has the additional benefit of making employees more conscious of the electricity they are using and improving energy efficiency.

London Developments

The Greater London Authority (GLA) and the London Development Agency (LDA) have pro renewable energy policies for the onsite generation of carbon free electricity. Chelsfield Solar can help you with your onsite renewable energy obligations.

The Merton Rule

The London Borough of Merton has been leading the way in the installation and acceptance of renewable energy systems, with other councils looking to them for guidance. They are proposing a revised version of the policy for their draft LDF to clarify this issue: “The Council will require all developments, either new build or conversion, with a floor-space of 500m2, or one or more residential units, to incorporate on-site renewable energy equipment to reduce predicted CO2 emissions by at least 10%”. For more information on the Merton Rule see http://themertonrule.org/energy-vs-carbon.
