Remote Solar
When we first became involved in remote power
supplies we became acutely aware that the ready-made kits available
weren’t going to survive long in real-world rural applications.
So we developed our own specification that took into account
the punishment that livestock, vermin and the good old British
weather would throw at us. Consequently we have evolved a unique
and robust solution for providing dependable mains-free electricity.
Our range of stand-alone power units provide
solar lighting and/or clean, green electricity that you can
simply plug your mains appliances or extension lead into.
The units are intended to provide electricity
where there is no mains supply available or perhaps where you
require a mains back-up in the event of a power cut. They are
an ideal option for electricity needs for remote stables, sheds,
barns etc as they have been specifically designed for exterior
applications where a good amount of light and/or power is needed.
Please note these units do not supply heating/hot water.
Our remote solar power units are only available
from Chelsfield Solar Ltd and are on offer in London and the
South East as an installed unit. The reasons for this are that
we want to make sure the unit is installed correctly for optimum
results and for your own peace of mind, in the highly unlikely
event of a problem, we can get a service engineer out to you.
If you are looking for an excellent quality
and quantity of light and/or power that provides the light or
power you need, where and when you need it, then these are for
you. Our quality remote units include the following features:
 |
Fully installed cost including
VAT - no hidden extras. |
 |
Plug-and-play operation so no self assembly.
|
 |
High output solar modules that produce
twice the energy of conventional panels in winter conditions,
which is when you need it most. These efficient panels work
in cloudy conditions to ensure charging of the battery even
on overcast days. The level of cloud will depend how much
the solar panel(s) will charge the battery. |
 |
Durable & damage resistant glass-free
solar panel. |
 |
High capacity battery. |
 |
To maximise reliability, we have eliminated
2 very common conditions that can destroy a battery in a
matter of weeks:
1. Overcharging. We incorporate a clever device to disconnect
the solar panel if the battery is already fully charged.
2. Excessive draining. Our units monitor the battery and
will disconnect the battery before it gets damaged.
|
 |
Wiring included. |
 |
Virtually silent, so no noise like you
would get from a petrol generator. |
 |
Integral battery & control gear in
non-combustible weatherproof enclosure for rodent resistance.
|
 |
Safe low voltage system with fuse protection.
|
 |
Constructed from low embedded energy
components to minimise environmental impact, where possible.
|
 |
Low maintenance. |
 |
Solar panel comes with a 20 year guarantee.

The units are available in
2 versions:
Light Set 105TL
Single solar panel for lighting
The Light Set 105TL
unit has a 12V output and comes complete with 3 x 11W low energy
bulbs (CFLs) in tough bulkhead fittings - equivalent to 180W
of conventional lighting.
When the battery is
fully charged the 105TL will provide over 10 hours of light
- this is an ideal unit for making life safer and easier at
otherwise dark locations. Realistically, the battery will not
always be at full charge as it depends on the level of cloud
etc.
Power Set 212TP
Two solar panels and a higher capacity battery for frequent
electricity usage.
The
Power Set 212TP has a 230V output and comes with a UK mains
socket outlet. This unit has two solar panels, an inverter and
a higher capacity battery than the Light Set 105TL.
This
unit is ideal if you have a frequent requirement for electrical
appliances. This will run a range
of lighting and electrical appliances with a rating of 1kW or
less, such as lights, drill, radio, TV, fridge, 1kW kettle,
lawnmower etc.
The solar panel(s) can either be mounted on a suitable pitched
single storey roof or can be fixed to a ballasted weatherproof
unit for a flat roof or ground mounted option.
